Andrew Cuomo and Rob Astorino were both campaigning during the Columbus Day Parade. Both candidates are sure of their campaigns but Cuomo seems a little nervous in his campaign which shows through his actions. He is making spontaneous trips to Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. Cuomo is saying that he wants to visit these places in order to show his support to the communities in NY, it seems, however, that he is showing sudden support to these communities because he hash;t paid much attention to them before and now sees that they are important to his election. What do you guys think?

I think trips to Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic right before a major election just look a little desperate and sad. What would these trips accomplish? Why not just focus on the Puerto Rican and Dominican populations in New York?
ReplyDeleteI agree with Asmaaul; these last-minute trips just give the impression that Cuomo only cares about the votes of these communities and not their needs. If he has been ignoring them for years now, a few last-minute trips aren't going to change that.
ReplyDeleteWith such a huge lead in the polls, it seems funny that Cuomo sees Astorino as such a big threat that he would plan this trip to keep control of a vote that he has ignored. I wonder what Astorino has done for those communities himself.
