This post is was mostly about the memoir governor Cuomo will be releasing on Tuesday, three weeks before election day. In this book, he talks about the highs and lows of his political and even personal points of his life. In the memoir, he speaks about his father Mario M. Cuomo and ex-wife Kerry Kennedy. Of course, there are mentions of his political outlook and points of what he thinks it takes to do well in politics.
It seems rather convenient that Cuomo is releasing a memoir three weeks before the election day. Perhaps he is trying to appeal to the people with a more person-to-person focus instead of a pressing the public with his political image. Would this book be a successful way of boosting his image or just fluff?
I think that is exactly why he is publishing this memoir. He wants to get closer to the people and the way to do that is to appeal to them in the way that the other candidates aren't. He wants to relate to them and show them that they should vote for him because he is a regular person just like they are and that is what is going to get him voted.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Daniella's statement. I feel that Cuomo released this memoir to gain sympathy from the public in order to connect with them on more of a personal level. This is accomplished by him telling his life story of how he is a human being like everybody else but he didn't let his life problems like divorcing his wife affect the way he views New York.
ReplyDeleteI also agree with Daniella's statement because Governor Cuomo's timing of the release of his memoir is a little to suspicious due to how close election day is. He is trying to connect with the average New York and his/her everyday issues. In this narrative he is describing his life like a normal person who faces problems. This is most likely meant to seem personal so that New Yorkers feels like the Governor is exactly like them and that he understands them and their issues.
