Republican Attorney General candidate John Cahill is looking at big pay cut if he wins

This article talks exclusively about the salaries of John Cahill and Eric Schneiderman. It mentions their tax return and how much money they have each made in the past five years. The article mentions that Cahill is looking at a half a million pay cut if he wins. It also mentions that when asked why Cahill is willing to lost so much money, Cahill says he would do it to restore integrity back to the governors office. I think that this article is extremely promotional towards Cahill's campaign because it is showing voters that he is willing to give up a lot of money in order to get the job that he wants and it shows that he cares enough about the city he wants to win for to give up money in order to make it better.

  1. I think it is very noble of Cahill to give up so much money for the position of Attorney General. It just goes to show that not all politicians are corrupt and in it for the money.

  2. Although I agree with Paula in that it's noble of John Cahil to give up his large salary if he wins the position of Attorney General, the incentives he may have from the position will make up for the loss in money. He may not have as much money, but he will have power and authority.

  3. I agree with Stephanie. It may seem admirable, and it is certainly possible that Cahill has purely good-willed intentions, but it is also possible that he is simply trading money off for power.
