It states in this article that Eric Schneiderman has been using tax dollars to pay for law firms to defend against lawsuits against Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver and the Assembly. John Cahill says that it is not the duty of the state officials to sexually harass young women therefore it is not the job of the taxpayers to pay to defend the officials when lawsuits arise. John Cahill is calling upon Eric Schneiderman to stop wasting taxpayers money on this because he already spent $700,000 for law firms. Is this what Eric Schneiderman should be doing this close to the election? Will John Cahill get ahead because of this?

This is honestly extremely surprising to read because, according to me, this is borderline corruption. This seems like corruption because he is using public money to do something that he wants done. As attorney general Eric Schneiderman should be actually be one of the last corrupt politicians because he has to enforce the law. I believe that this is going to have a big impact on Eric Schneiderman's campaign because the people will no longer be able to trust him with their money and this can result in his loss.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Romil. This is very bad news for Eric Schniederman. Nothing is more important than what the tax payers money is being used on in New York. If it is used on protecting Schniederman in court he will definitely lose the public election if this issue goes more public. Schniederman has to prove himself or else this can be a very bad mistake.
