Gov. Cuomo releases campaign ad featuring his daughters and girlfriend, celebrity chef Sandra Lee

Governor Andrew Cuomo is making efforts to promote woman's equality. This weekend marked the start of his women quality campaign by releasing his first commercial, featuring his family - three daughters and girlfriend. The commercial raises points about sexual abuse, unequal pay, and abortion. This approach is interesting, as it seems like Cuomo can relate to woman's rights to a great extent, knowing that he lives with four other females. This tactic was used last year by Bill de Blasio, when he featured his son, Dante. I think that bringing the candidates family into the campaign shows the public that these candidates have families too and are willing to represent us as much as they would their family.

  1. I agree completely, and I believe it is very advantageous for Governor Cuomo to represent his family in his Women's Equality Act. Nonetheless, I find it unfair for other candidates who might support the same act, though do not have relatives to merge into their ideas. Therefore, while this might give Cuomo some points, it might also show some sign of desperation- which coherently loses voters.

  2. I think that his approach to bring in his three daughters and girlfriend to raise points about sexual abuse, unequal pay, and abortion was a very strategic move.

  4. I agree that Cuomo is acting in a very strategic way and I also think that since he is a democratic candidate and that most women are already leaning towards voting for him,he is solidifying their votes with making moves such as this.
